Player profiles for 25 of the top 15 and under ballers. With the 15 and under state tournament now in the record books we will profile the top 25 players from the event. The players will be listed in alphabetical order:

Ashlon Adams (Science Hill) Tennessee Travelers (6-5 WF)
Very good outside shot coupled with good size makes him very dangerous. Ash must improve his defensive effort to become a complete player.

Gary Adams (Dickson County) Williamson County Tigers (6-3 PF)
Big, strong, efficient athlete who played hard and made the most of his gifts. Used superb effort to keep himself on the floor.

Darren Bates (CBHS) Memphis YOMCA (5-11 SG)
Quick guard who finds a way to put the ball in the bucket. Strong off the dribble and is adept at drawing fouls and getting to the line.

Marlon Brown (Harding Academy) Memphis YOMCA (6-4 WF)
One of the best natural athletes in the gym. Has a good outside game that will complement his drives to the bucket. Has incredible hops and can use either hand to finish. One of the best players in the state in this age group.

Trey Carouthers (Harpeth) Williamson County Tigers (6-2 SG)
Smooth athlete who has a world of upside. Must adjust better to the physical aspect of the summer game and this will come when he gains strength to go along with his skill.

Ian Clark (Germantown) Memphis YOMCA II (5-11 SG)
Smart player who was the leader of his squad. Had solid outside ability but was better with the ball from the wing going to the bucket.

Stephen Cook (Chattanooga Christian) Tennessee Travelers (5-9 PG)
Strong, tough player who is the ultimate teammate with his unselfish attitude and complete contempt for credit. A huge team first man that will put the glove on his unfortunate opponent and has a dynamic short pull up on the offensive end.

James Gallman (Knoxville Fulton) Tennessee Travelers (5-10 PG/SG)
Gallman has all the tools to be one of the very best players in the state. He can shoot from three and has leadership skills that belie his age.His basketball IQ is off the charts and his defensive effort will help him be victorious no matter the setting.

Zelburge Gleaves (Antioch) Tennessee Thunder (5-10 SG)
Hard nosed competitor came to play over the weekend and showed his worth dropping a tourney high 30 points on the Travelers. Will need to get stronger and work on his ball handling.

Taverus Jefferson (Ensworth) Tennessee Tigers (5-9 PG)
Without question or argument the best player on the floor. The do it all point man controls the tempo of the entire game and has encompassed the teachings of his coach (former Vanderbilt star Drew Maddux). His decision making has improved and his mid-range game; as well as; his outside game are truly next level.

Blake Jenkins (Knoxville Bearden) Tennessee Flight (6-4 WF)
Blake is finally getting into basketball shape having spent the latter part of the high school season nursing a back injury. The slithery youngster has a pretty spin move to get closer to the rack and has a knack for tipping in offensive rebounds. Must improve his perimeter game to make himself hard to guard.

Chase Jones (Knoxville Austin-East) Tennessee Flight (6-3 WF)
One of the showcase athletes of the event. Has the ability to put the ball on the floor and take it to the rack from anywhere on the wing. Must make gym time to work on his outside shot and foul shooting.

Zach Jones (Craigmont) Memphis YOMCA (6-4 WF)
Another in the long line of Memphis phenoms whose athletic prowess is slightly ahead of his basketball skills. Jones showed wonderful hustle and was a monster on the both boards, but seemed reluctant to shoot from the perimeter.

Patrick Lee (BTW) Memphis YOMCA (5-9 PG)
The heart and soul of the Y squad that finished second over the weekend. Has a unique ability to score on the break over much bigger players with reverse layins and a good outside stroke.

Zeke Mason (Davidson Academy) Tennessee Tigers (6-5 PF)
Played so well in the post it was almost illegal. Has learned that proper position and all out effort will work wonders for your scoring and rebounding numbers. If he continues on this pace, Zeke will be a high major must have.

Miles Asafo-Adjei (Ensworth) Tennessee Tigers (6-2 SG)
Amazing length is the first thing you notice when Miles steps on the floor. The length helps with his all out defensive effort on the opponents top player. Was good from the perimeter hitting big threes all weekend. Is a menace in the passing lanes with his go-go gadget arms.

Hunter Miller (CPA) Tennessee Tigers (5-10 SG)
Shot the opponents out of their zone in the championship game and continued to reign threes the entire weekend. Must get stronger and add mid-range game to his long distance prowess.

William Moore (Chattanooga Christian) Tennessee Travelers (6-3 WF)
Moore has one of the more complete games of any player in this class. He can run the floor, lead the break, finish with a bucket or pin point dish and get back to guard in the post or on the perimeter. Once he masters the outside portion of the game he will be one of the top prospect in the state.

Gary Pope (Ensworth) Tennessee Tigers (6-3 WF)
Athletically gifted youngster who plays with a passion that makes him very special. Always finishes around the bucket with tough put backs and plays hard on every possession.

Demonte Simpson (Knoxville Bearden) Tennessee Flight (6-6 PF)
Pleasantly surprised with the improvement of the Knoxville youngster. Simpson has added a solid back to the basket game, including a short jumper. He has greatly improved his defense with big rebounds all over the lane and was able to block and alter numerous shots. If he gets his body stronger this will be a stud that draws a great deal of attention.

Landry Stanton (Knoxville Carter) Tennessee Flight (6-0 SG)
Solid outside shooter who plays a tough brand of basketball that coaches love. Landry can hit the runner or post up with his strength. Plays very hard and can force a shot at times. Will need to watch his demeanor on the court.

Kenny Tucker (McGavock) Tennessee Fire (6-1 PF)
Tucker proved to be a scoring machine getting inside buckets and grabbing loose balls and putting anything around the basket in the hole. Must advance his ball-handling and outside shooting skills to enhance his stock.

Deonte Twilley (Shelbyville) Tennessee Travelers (5-9 PG)
Very savvy point guard who knows when to penetrate and when to run the offense. His defensive skills are above average and he can break you down off the dribble and finish at the rim.

Jonathan Williams (Rossview) Tennessee Fire (6-4 WF)
Williams showed gumption and guile with his effort and basketball skill. The youngster would often lead the break and finish when the opportunity presented tiself. He will need to work on ball skills as he forced a great deal of turnovers in his effort to score.

Adrian Williamson (Hume Fogg) Tennessee Thunder (6-1 SG)
The player who simply gets things done is the best way to describe this baller. Has the ability to score and has a wonderful knack for getting offensive putbacks. Will be tough to contend with when he develops an outside game and tightens his ball handling skills so he can play either guard position.
