Tennessee teams represent at the T.O.C One of the biggest weekends of the year begins with one of the finest tournaments of the season. The annual Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions brings the basketball establishment to the beautiful corridor known to most as Tobacco Road. The tournament will feature 136 teams from all over the United States and they will decend on the willing campus of North Carolina, Duke and North Carolina State.

The Volunteer state will be well represented at the elite event and yours truly will be manning the sidelines at all the various venues of the tourney. In the 17 and under division Pool A will feature the Memphis Magic led by the state's top player Maurice Miller (Raleigh-Egypt) and Randy Culpepper (Sheffield). The Magic have the unfortunate task of toiling in the pool with the pre-tourney favorite Southern Cal All-Stars. The boys from the coast feature some of the nations top players including Kevin Love,Taylor King and Brandon Jennings.

Pool E will feature the Mid-State Ballerz Elite. The Ballerz feature some of the state's top players including Jewon Long (Liberty), Kevin Smith (Riverdale), Josh Sain (Liberty), Ken Bingham (McNairy Central) and Ryan Westbrooks (Hillsboro). Joining the Ballerz in pool play are The New York Panthers,Baltimore Stars and Rising Stars out of Illinois.

Pool F will have the Tennessee Mavericks. The Mavs will be led by Chaisson Allen (Oakland), Phillip Jurrick (East Ridge), Brandon Brown (Brentwood Academy) and Brian Wright (Brentwood Academy). The remainder of the pool includes the Michigan Hurricanes, Team Philly and the Houston Hoop Stars.

Pool N brings us the Nashville Celtics. The boys in green will take the floor with Gerald Robinson (MLK), Jaime Graham (White's Creek), Scott Saunders (BGA) and Cameron Jordan (Hillsboro). The remaining members of the pool include Team Breakdown,The Playaz and Inner Strength.

Leading the 16 and under division will be The Mid-State Ballerz Elite. The state's top ranked 16 and under squad will compete in Pool A. The Ballerz are led by Scottie Hopson (Kentucky), Tyler Cutter (Seigel), Tyrone Caldwell (Clarksville), Josh Henley (Hunter's Lane) and Kevin Giltner (Harpeth). The remainning members of the pool include The Playaz,D-One Sports, and the Smyrna Stars.

The other 16 and under Tennessee representative will be the Nashville Celtics. The Celtics will compete in Pool E with DC Assault, Team Breakdown and the Illinois Wolves. Leading the Celtics will be DeMario Williams (Culleoka), Rapheal Gaskins (Glencliff) and Chris Weitzel (Warren County).

The states only representative in the 15 and under division will be the Mid-State Ballerz Elite. The Elite will be led by Jamarious Alderson (Clarksville Northeast), Aaron Puckett (White County) and Kevin Caldwell (Clarksville). The Ballerz will compete in pool D along with DC Assault,Team Jersey Elite and the North Carolina Gators.
