What happened in the state this weekend.
The state 17 and under tourney was the big event with some movement among the state's elite. Little change in the other age groups.
17 AND UNDER:
1. MEMPHIS TIGERS
Won state 17 and under with a sensational final day. Strong and Gilcrest are good.
2. MID-STATE BALLERZ ELITE
Runner-up at state playing without numerous key players.
3. NASHVILLE CELTICS
Can you penalize them for not playing AAU , tough call but most judges concur.
4. TENNESSEE TRAVELERS
Same can be said in this instance, July looms large on the horizon.
5. MEMPHIS MAGIC
Still riding wave of a fantastic Memorial Day Weekend.
6. M33M BALLERZ
When will these guys play again, probably in July with the rest of the world.
7. MEMPHIS CELTICS
Same as above.
8. MEMPHIS STORM
Played very well in super regional in Illinois this weekend.
9. TENNESSEE THUNDER
Third place finish at state moves the Nashville kids up the ladder.
10. MEMPHIS YOMCA
Great weekend that led to a fourth place finish at state.
11. MURFREESBORO STARS
Looking for the month of July to make their next splash. Seems to be a pattern.
12. TENNESSEE MAVERICKS
Same as above.
13. MID-STATE BALLERZ ELITE 16'S
Missing key players at 17 state but held their own.
14. NASHVILLE STALLIONS
Played very hard all weekend and gave all they played fits. Good solid team.
15. MID-STATE BALLERZ SELECT
Huge victory over Memphis Tigers overshadowed a sub-par tourney.

The War Eagles will not be ranked in the 15's becuase they have not played in a 15 and under event this season. The 16 and under state will take place in Nashville this weekend and I am sure this will shake up the 16's rankings. |
