The scores and highlights from last week's games of the week.
(W4) Results:
East Tennessee:
Austin East 65
Fulton 50
This game was never in question for the Roadrunners. From the opening tap to the close of the first stanza, Coach Mitchell's boys ran out to a 16-6 lead and never looked back. The Roadrunners were led in scoring by senior Stephen Kite who dropped in 16, Daran Taylor with 14 and senior point Marquis Barrett, who took this game over with his leadership and hustle finished with 9 points and numerous great plays and assists.
The Falcons got 14 points from senior Quinn Cannington and 10 from freshman James Gallman.
Middle Tennessee:
Seigel 79
Hunter's Lane 64
A tough anticipated matchup turned into a Seigel romp. Jimmy Oden tossed in 29 points and led Seigel to a 20-8 second quarter run that sealed the fate of Hunter's Lane in this contest. The Stars also got 17 from Keith Ramsey, and 12 each from Lucas Jones and Darius Roper.
Hunter's Lane was led in scoring by Jeremiah Crutcher with 17, Josh Henley with 15 and Mike Jones with 14.
West Tennessee:
Haywood County 54
Bolivar 53
Finally!!!!
Haywood County used a novel approach to score it's first victory over Bolivar in quite sometime. The Haywood staff was content to let Wayne Chism and Willie Kemp go wild, but concentrated on keeping the remainder of the squad under wraps. The strategy worked like a charm and Haywood scored the all important victory. Haywood was led in scoring by senior Shavion Comage who came off the bench to score 17 points and sophomore guard Kenny Greer with 12. Mississippi State signee Jarvis Varnado was held to five points but contributed mightely on the defensive end of the floor.
Bolivar got 18 apiece from their dynamic duo of Chism and Kemp but could find nothing from the remainder of the squad. |
