Tennessee and Georgia Clash in annual battle.
What is it about border battles that brings out the best in players.
The annual Hardee's All-Star Basketball Classic pitting the top players from the Southeastern corner of Tennessee against their Gerogia counterparts proved to be no exception.
The Georgia All-Stars behind 26 points from Stephen McLeland used a strong second half rally to slip by the Tennessee All-Stars 94-89. McLeland, who played his summer basketball with the Tennessee Travelers, offset a nice performance from McMinn Central stalwart Blake Derrick. The LMU signee scored 16 points on a variety of shots and was rewarded with the Tennessee MVP. The Tennessee squad also got 14 points from Lee University signee Davis Eldridge, 12 from Chattanooga Red Bank guard Brandon Moon and 10 each from McMinn Central teammates Julian Boyd and Beau Brown.
Brown, who also signed with LMU, captured the slam duk championship. |
