Brandon Brown Brentwood Academy duo commits to Bison
The Atlantic Sun 2005-2006 regular season champs made the most of their new found success and corralled a pair of the Music City's best. Brian Wright and Brandon Brown the outstanding wing players from Brentwood Academy both gave their pledge to continue their basketball careers at the Nashville institution. Wright, a 6-5 wing and the younger brother of North Carolina and McDonalds All-American Branden Wright, came on very strong with a huge July helping his Tennessee Mavericks become the talk of the Southeast. Wright proved he could fill the lane on the break, grab a tough rebound out of his area and still drop his dewdrop sweet jumper from the perimeter. Brown, a 6-6 three/four man showed his versatility this summer putting the ball on the deck and displaying some much needed toughness. His ability to knock down the three was always his forte, with added strength he could become an All-A/Sun player. Brown chose the Bison over offers from Chattanooga and Richmond. "The chance for my family to get to see me on a regular basis was a huge reason why I decided to commit to Lipscomb" said Brown. The commitment of Wright and Brown gives Lipscomb their third pledge from the Volunteer state with Lipscomb High guard Josh Slater having already given his word earlier last season. Coach Scott Sanderson and his staff did an outstanding job keeping the Brentwood Academy duo at home and folks in Nashville will enjoy seeing them roam the courts of the Allen Arena. With their college choices out of the way the dynamic duo can concentrate on leading the Eagles to their fifth consecutive DII state championship. |
