The scoring and breakdown of last weeks selections for game of the week.
East:
Clinton 78
Halls 66
Clinton got 22 points from senior guard Jordan Dixon and 21 markers from senior point Jonathan Dye while leading their Dragons to a 78-66 victory over district rival Halls. The victory puts Clinton into a tie for second with the Red Devils trailing only powerful Oak Ridge. Halls led the majority of the game put faltered late in the fourth with untimely mistakes and bad shot selection. The Red Devils were led by junior Cameron Sharp who tallied 26, including 20 in the first halfand Clay Segers with 11.
Clinton also got scoring assitance from Charles Huddleston with 14 and Matt Ford with 10.
Middle:
Seigel 68
White's Creek 64
The cream rises to the top when great teams compete against one another and this contest was no exception. Senior guard Jimmy Oden popped in 24 points and made 8 steals in leading his Seigel Stars to a 68-64 victory over metro power White's Creek. Seigel also got scoring help from Darius Roper with 14, Keith Ramsey with 13 and sophomore Tyler Cutter with 10.
White's Creek coming off an emotionmal defeat of super power Brentwood Academy could not make the victory stick as Oden took over in crunch time and converted from the charity stripe to help ensure the Stars victory. The Creek was led in scoring by senior guard Wil Peters with 26 and Dominique Rouse with 12.
West:
Bolivar Central 75
Liberty Tech 74
Memphis signee Willie Kemp scored the games final five points and Bolivar escaped with a 75-74 victory over 12AA district rival Liberty Tech. The victory gives Bolivar a sweep over the Crusaders and makes the upcoming district and region tournaments a future event showcase. Kemp finished the game with 17 points and 10 assists, but Bolivar was led by Tennessee signeee Wayne Chism who had a monster game with 24 points, 20 caroms, 6 assist and 4 blocks. His Lebron James like preformance will go down as one of the finest in school history.
Liberty was led by Murray State signee Bradnon Evans with 16, Antwon Long with 14, his twin brother Jewon with 13 and junior stud Devon Jones with 10. Destiny will be short lived as these two squads will certainly see each other at least two more times before the season comes to a close. |
