![]() Josh Sain Something about playing on the biggest of stages brings out the best in some people. The players at Liberty Tech Magnet School have taken this message to heart as they dispatch of another tournament favorite and advance to the championship. Josh Sain continued his brilliant play scoring 6 of the Crusaders 9 points in the extra session to help lead Liberty to a 78-75 victory over highly ranked Lake Howell (Fl.). The Florida juggernaut held the advantage the majority of the game before junior Charles Holt drained a three at the third quarter buzzer to give Liberty it's first lead 57-56. The defending AA state champs got an exciting effort from 6-5 senior Devon Jones who led the scoring brigade with 21 points on 10-12 shooting. Sain continued his torrid effort dropping 20 and Antwan "Big Boi" Long did his usual yeoman work on the interior finishing with 20 points and 8 boards. Anthony Sampson the diminutive point had a great showing dishing out 11 dimes and making life difficult on the Lake Howell players. Florida signee Nick Calathes led Lake Howell with 27points and fellow Gator signee Chandler Parsons finished with 16points and 14 boards. The victory propels Liberty(14-0) into the championship game against Duke signee Taylor King and Santa Ana Mater Dei out of California. Sain has been the talk of the tourney averaging almost 26 points per game and showing the basketball community he is a big time prospect. |
