Mr. Basketball finalist Seth Skogen scored 25 points and captured the MVP award leading the Crusaders to a 61-37 drubbing Chattanooga Arts and Science in the title game of the Class A state championship. Skogen was sensational scoring from all over the court while his teammates went on a 20-3 third quarter run to put his game away for good. Senior Dee Newsome added 12 points in the victory. CSAS was led by Terrill Townsend with 10 points. Senior guard Brandon Craven, who had a very good tourney up until the championship game finished with no points on the day.

The teams were meeting for the fourth time this season with Temple having won the first three by extra wide margin including the region final. CSAS completed a wonderful season going farther than anyone outside of their lockeroom anticipated they would. Coach Dragoo has his troops playing their best basketball of the season at the right time and completed a fine run.
