Results from last weeks selected games of the week
East Tennessee:
Cleveland 76
Bradley Central 61
What a difference a few weeks make. Cleveland stinging from a drubbing at the hands of the Bears late last month, exacted their own brand of revenge with a 76-61 manhandling of Bradley Central. Cleveland senior Colby Dodd scored 21 points and Alex Goldston dropped in 18 of his own to lead the Raiders. Cleveland also managed 15 points from Bradley transfer Houston Phillips and 11 from Preston Scoggins. Bradley was led by Keith Dodd with 22, Terrance Oglesby and Wes Adams chipped in with 13.
Middle Tennessee
Sycamore 72
Harpeth 58
Sycamore clinched an outright district crown with a hard fought 72-58 dismantling of rival Harpeth on Friday night. Jesse Moulton was simply "en fuego" in this one dropping threes from all corners of the cramped facilty. The 6-3 senior scored 31 points including a backbreaking four point play late in the fourth that spelled doom for Harpeth. Austin Lohin chipped in 16 for Sycamore.
Harpeth got 19 big points from Cody Davis and 14 from Scott Erland.
West Tennessee
Brentwood Academy 59
Bolivar Central 42
A rematch of a fun Arby's final turned out to be anticlimatic as the Eagles got out to a 17-0 start and finished off the Bolivar charge 59-42. Bolivar was devasted by a 1-22 shooting start that put them in a hole to large to climb out of. North Carolina signee Branden Wright did his typical damage with 14 points, 15 boards and 8 big blocks. Southern Illinois future guard Josh Bone was once again the catalyst with 15 timely points, including big shots during a Bolivar run to close the gap. Willie Kemp led Bolivar with 16 in the losing effort. |
