![]() Josh Sain Two senior starters for the Crusaders make their college decisions. Two time defending state AA champions Liberty Tech continue to be the talk of the state adding one more potential big-timer to the growing list of DI commitments and another overachiever gets his due as well. Josh Sain, the 6-6 wingman, who courted offers from Alabama, Arkansas and a host of other DI programs has decided to stay home and pledged his commitments to Kermit Davis and his Blue Raiders of Middle Tennessee State University. Sain had a fantastic senior season making national healdines with his play at the City of Palms, Arby's Classic and the game against Oak Hill Academy. Sain put to rest any doubts in the Oak Hill game showing he could compete against all of the best player's in the country. The commitment of Sain brings the Class of 2007 to 22 and counting. Sain joins fellow senior teammate jewon Long, who signed with Murray State earlier in the process as the two DI reps from the Jackson powerhouse. Sain will also join Memphis Hamilton guard Broderick Gilcrest and Bradley Central big man Keith Dodd as DI commitments from the state headed to the Sun Belt emerging juggernaut. Sain, who spent his summer with the Mid-State Ballerz Elite, has improved in all facets of the game and will be a potential all-conference performer for the Blue Raiders down the road.
The little guy..Anyone who spent anytime watching Liberty this season could not help but notice and root for their diminutive point man Anthony Sampson. The mighty mite with a heart much larger than his frame, knew his role for the Crusaders and made his teammates much better with his deft penetration and quick-thinking passing. His height seemed to be a concern for alot of schools but his production would prove otherwise. Freed Hardeman head man Jason Shelton thought this tough competitor was a no brainer and the little big man has pledged to become a student/athlete at Freed-Hardeman. The Lions compete in the TransSouth Conference in the NAIA division and are slowling building a powerhouse. The addition of the consumate team player will only enhance that growth. Sampson can score when challenged and always finds his open mates, he defends with his sneaky quickness and uses his size as a deterent and a motivational factor. I am so pleased he is getting an opportunity to show what he can do on the next level. |
