Class of 2008 big man declares his intent to play for Coach Pearl and the Vols.

Phillip Jurick (East Ridge) wanted to get this decision done and over. No more staying on the phone all hours of the night fielding calls from recruiting services and coaches.

The Chattanooga post player had basically narrowed his selection down to Indiana and Tennessee. A recent on-campus visit tilted the deck towards the Vols and Jurick became the second member of the class of 2008 in Tennessee to commit.

The big guy possess a great work ethic and is a demon on the defensive end blocking shots, getting tough rebounds and bringing an intimidation factor tp those who dare enter his painted domain. His offense has come along greatly and his jump hook is his go to move.

Jurick will compete this summer for the Tennessee Mavericks and has numerous camps and an overseas trip planned as part of his itenerary. It will be a much more peaceful experience now that the big decision has been made. The Chattanooga giant stated his interest in helping the Vols continue their upward path and stated his respect for the coaching staff as the major factors in his decison.

Jurick, as stated earlier is the second member of this class to commit, Darnell Wilks (Pioneer Christian) cast his pledge for Cincinnati late last season.
