Raleigh Egypt guard headed to the Sunshine State.
The list of commitments continues to grow. Derrick Grandberry (Raleigh-Egypt) will continue his basketball career at Gulf Coast Community College in Florida. Playing in what is one of the toughest juco leagues in the country, The Panhandle Conference, Grandberry will be a welcome addition for first year coach Jay Powell and the Commodores. Staying in the juco ranks the Senators of Jackson State will sign two more to their burgeoining squad. Reggie Bomar (Lexington) and Cordero Staten (Lexington) bring their similiar games to the Jackson campus. Coach Hines will welcome the toughness and hard nosed style of the Lexington duo. Carson Newman has made a concerted effort to bring more Volunteer state players to the roster. Chauncey Thompson (Notre Dame) is the latest to take the plunge. The new fast paced style will suit the Chattanooga area's leading scorer to a T. Thompson brings a tough exterior and the ability to score from inside or out to the Jefferson City campus. The Buffalos of Milligan continue to pile on the recruits adding two more to the fray. Antionnie Knight (Adamsville) and Josh Lipscomb (Nashville Christian Advancement). Knight is an athletic 6-7 player who has a great upside and Lipscomb is a very bouncy athletic player who has boundless energy and plays hard and tough. Both players will be welcome additions to Coach Ton Wallingford and his staff. |
