Legacy headed home.
Jonnie West, the sharpshooting guard from Lausanne in Memphis has cast his wares to play for West Virginia.
West, whose father Jerry West is an NBA Hall of Famer and current president of basketball operations for the Memphis Grizzlies, will play at the alma mater of his famous father.
West who is averaging around 20 points per game is preparing his squad for the upcoming Division II state tournament.
West chose West Virginia over interest from Penn, Dartmouth, Eastern Kentucky and Gonzaga.
West will need to improve his strength to compete for John Beilein's Mountaineers, who currently stand # 11 in the nation. The 6-3 guard has a wonderful basketball IQ and will fit into the West Virginia scheme.
