![]() John Primm Dickson hosts tourney loaded with Tennessee flavor. Some of the top summer squads descend upon Dickson County High School this weekend for the annual Challenge of Champions event. The 17 and under division which will go by the sexy name platinum division features solid teams in it's four pool bracket. Pool A features the Southeast Elite-Memphis squad led by emerging big man Arnette Moultrie (Trezevant). Guard play is also a staple for the Bluff City crew with Martino Brock (Ridgeway), Malcolm Burton (Kirby) and Elgin Lee (Briarcrest Christian) controlling the reigns. The Mid-State Ballerz Blue also rests in Pool A. The Ballerz feature nationally ranked two guard Scotty Hopson (Kentucky) along with a veritable potpourri of outstanding players including Tyrone Caldwell (Clarksville), John Primm (Dickson County), Nicholas Livesay (Bolton) and Robert Elam (Pioneer Christian). A very tough pool also features K.J. Stripling (Smyrna) and the Murf-Town Hustlers and one of the pool surprises from the King of the South, the Nashville Bearcats.
Pool B features the Chattanooga Warriors with Darrius Ricks (Howard), Orlandis Jackson (Brainard) and Brandon Allen (Howard). The Mid-State Ballerz White with Zamarius McClendon (Northwest) and Antonio Smith (Jackson Southside). The Franklin Rage, not sure if it's the 16's or 17's, but they will be solid either way and the Knoxville Cagers round out the pool featuring Riley Hunley (Farragut), Colin Crane (Karns) and Grant Gouldie (Anderson County).
Pool C brings Team Chaos from Memphis with newly committed Erik Buggs (White Station), Terrico White (Craigmont) and Jarvis Jones (Mitchell). The Mid-State Ballerz White 16's with LeShun Banks (Kenwood) and Kelton Stewart (Wilson Central) will run in this pool; as well as, The Memphis Hoopers Black and the Tennessee Fire, who will have Marquis Rudolph (Northwest), Adrian Williamson (Hume Fogg) and Zellburge Gleaves (Antioch).
Pool D begins with the Memphis Hoopers Gold squad. The Hoopers are bringing one of their best teams in years led by Reggie Buckner (Manassas), Edwin Dorsey (Oakhaven) and Derrick Richards (Westside).. The Brentwood Grizzlies will compete in this pool along with the Mid-State Ballerz Blue 16's, who feature Skyler McBee (Rutledge), Derrick Walker (Covington) and C.J. Crittendon (Dyer County). Rounding out the final 17 and under pool the Tennessee All-Stars will come to play with M.J. Brown (Union City), E.J. Epperson (Humboldt) and Robert Yancey (Trenton Peabody).
The Gold division will house the younger age groups and those pool look like this: Pool E Tennessee Stormriders Tennessee Mavericks 16's Clarksville All-Stars 16's Tennessee Trojans
Pool F M33M Pacers Tennessee Mavericks 15's Memphis Hoopers 14's
Make the trip to Dickson for a good weekend of action. I will be there on Saturday to get a look, so be careful and happy hoops.
