Revenge is sweet for the Southeast Elite.

Just another chance, was all the players from the Southeast Elite-Memphis squad had on their collective minds for the final day of the Challenge of Champions event at Dickson County High School.

On Saturday the Elite fell to the host team Mid-State Ballerz Blue in convincing fashion 76-61. A "pep" talk from their fiery coach and a few unfortunate quarter and semi-final opponents to dispatch, the message and goal was clear.

One more shot at the Ballerz.

They got their wish and in a fine championship contest the Elite squeaked by the stubborn Ballerz 56-55 to capture the crown. Martino Brock (Ridgeway) led the Elite in scoring with 14 and took home MVP honors as well. Rockeem Henderson (Kirby) chipped in 14 markers for the Elite. Scotty Hopson (Kentucky) led the Ballerz with 17.

In the semi-final the Southeast Elite slipped by the Tennessee All-Stars 51-47 and the Ballerz got 14 from the hometown boy John Primm (Dickson County) to dispatch the Ballerz White squad 78-60.

The anticipated quarter-final match-up of Memphis squads saw the Southeast Elite, behind 23 from Elgin Lee (Briarcrest Christian) and 11 from Brock, soundly defeat Team Chaos 86-57. The rest of the quarterfinal field saw the Tennessee All-Stars, with 18 from M.J. Brown (Union City), get by the Franklin Rage 16's. In another surprise the Ballerz White defeated the Memphis Hoopers Gold 89-72 behind 21 from Michael Anderson (Kenwood). Hopson dropped 20 as the Ballerz Blue snuck past the Tennessee Fire 59-57.
