![]() Tavarres Jefferson Tennessee YOMCA Tigers put it together again for a nice run to end their season. Tavarres Jefferson (Ensworth) was the catalyst leading the Tigers to the title game against National Christian on Friday afternoon. Jefferson was outstanding dropping 19 points and controlling the tempo of the game so matter of fact the Full Pckage coaching staff ran a box and one on the lightning quick guard. The Tigers have run through bracket action in the silver division despite playing the event with only seven players. A big win over Team Illinois (71-66) took them to the Elite Eight and a 62-55 thrashing of the Dunbar Community Center lifted the Tigers into the Final Four. The beatings continued with a smashing of Full Package (86-70) in the semi-final contest. John Jenkins (Station Camp) was brilliant knocking down 7 threes on his way to 34 points. Zaccheus Mason (CPA) flirted with his third potential triple double of the week handing out more rejections than Jessica Alba. Despite the limited roster everyone had moments of contribution including some timely scoring from Hunter Miller (CPA) and the continuous improvement of Joshua Lee (Maplewood). The Mid-State Ballerz concluded an outstanding weekend led by the franchise Scotty Hopson (Kentucky). The potential All-American topped his four game 30+ effort netting 40 in a 62-61 heartbreaker to G.E.S.U.S.. The Balllerz will remain in Orlando and get prepared for tomorrows 17 and under national tournament. Joining the Ballerz form the Volunteer state at this sterling event will be the Tennessee Thunder, YOMCA, Mid-State Ballerz 16's,Tennessee Edge and Tri-State Grizzlies.
