![]() Kevin Giltner Tennessee Travelers finish July very strong. People always remember what you did last. So what better way to leave your mark than playing your best ball of the summer in July. The Tennessee Travelers finished the scorching month of July with a record of 14-7 and a 4-1 final record in the Price Chopper Prep Invitiational in St. Louis. The Travs were the champions of their pool finishing 3-0 with wins over the new York Gauchos, All-Iowa Attack and Texas Select (forfeit). They won a tough bracket game against the Kansas City Keys before falling to the Dallas/Ft. Worth Stars. Drawing a grteat deal of the ink this summer and in this tourney were the guard tandem of Kevin Giltner (Harpeth) and Tyler Cutter (Seigel). Giltner continued to kock down threes and showed his above average basketball sense. His recruitment is on high gear as of now having scored some important offers inlcuding ETSU. Cutter has grown his game since the July campaign started and his four solid offers including Belmont, are proof of that. His mental toughness makes coaches smile and his ability to knock down the open shot makes them happy. Also drawing some praise for their play in Kansas City were Michael France (Shelbyville), Quinche Dowdell (Oak Ridge) and Joe Meady (Knoxville Carter). France was deadly from the perimeter knocking down multiple threes in every game. Dowdell is working his game to the perimeter and has raised his stock with his summer play. Meady is an emerging stud with an increwdible upside. The Class of 2009 burgeoining star gets better every time he steps on the hardwood. Great finish for the Travelers who struggled to find their identity early on but kept the fight and finished with a flurry. |
