![]() Joe Jackson Playoffs set for Memphis Fall League. Terrico White (Craigmont) dropped 26 points and helped his Lakers slip by the Spurs in overtime 80-69. The win puts the Lakers as the top seed in the Western Conference for next week's playoff action. White was joined in the scoring column by Jarvis Jones (Mitchell) with 21. Jason Jones (Ridgeway) led the Spurs with 21. In other action earlier in the week Jacob Arnett (Tipton-Rosemark) and Mitch Lovins (Tipton-Rosemark) put their school in the headlines dropping 23 and 19 respectively to lead the Grizzlies to a 76-73 slip by the Suns. The Suns made a furious comeback to pull within three led by rising junior Ferrakohn Hall (White Station) with 18. Chris Crawford (Sheffield) also managed 18 markers and Reginald Buckner (Manassas) was a human highlight film with 17 including numerous crowd pleasing throw downs. In Wednesday night action "The Real Thing" Joe Jackson (White Station) continues to grow his legend scoring 26 points and dishing out 8 dimes to lead the Pacers to a 85-67 drubbing of the Bulls. Jackson's silky smooth counterpart Elgin Lee (Braircrest Christian) held pace dropping 18 and grabbi9ng 8 caroms as well. Tonye Smith (Treadwell) led the Bulls with 19. Balanced scoring keyed the Heat victory over the Cavs. (87-72). Bryant Reems (Lausanne) scored 18, Leslie McDonald (Braircrest Christian) added 16, Tim Peete (Memphis Central) chipped in 13 and two White Station youngsters Harry Green and Marvin Williams chipped in with 12 apiece. Sampson Carter (Ridgeway) continued his torrid scoring pace scoring 36 in the losing effort. |
