Ken Torry (Mitchell) scored 30 and Jacob Arnett (Tipton Rosemark) chipped in 24 to lead the Grizzlies to a 88-79 upset over the #2 seed Heat in opening round playoff action at the Super 80. Leslie McDonald (Briarcrest Christian) led the Heat with 29. The victory moves the Griz to a second round showdown against the Spurs, who finished off the Cavs 66-54. Jason Jones (Ridgeway) had the hot hand for the Spurs scoring 22. Missouri commitment Laurence Bowers (St. George's) was vital in victory knocking down q6 markers and grabbing 12 caroms. Sampson Carter (Ridgeway) was sterling in defeat scoring 28. In Tuesday night action at the Super 80, Terrico White (Craigmont) continued his torrid scoring pace dropping 30 and helping his Lakers slip by a determined Bulls squad 66-65. White was not alone in the scoring column as Jarvis Jones (Mitchell) chipped in with 15. Gregg Wooten (Braircrest Christian) and Zach Ricketts (St. Benedict) scored 19 and 15 respectively in defeat. In the Tuesday opener "The Real Thing" was at it again. Joe Jackson (White Station) scorched the twine for 29 and led his Pacers to an easy 85-64 win against the Suns. Also providing scoring assistance for the Pacers were Elgin Lee (Briarcrest Christian) with 17 and Lewis McCaster (Mitchell) with 16. Chris Crawford (Sheffield) was solid in the loss dropping 25. Ferrakohn Hall (White Station) added 16. Second round action commences soon so stay tuned for the results. |
