Memphis Hamilton completed their unbeaten season capturing the AAA title
If you were not there you missed one of the best high school basketball games of all time. Double overtime. Last second threes. Clutch foul shooting. Everything you could want in a ballgame and more.
Memphis Hamilton escaped with a 76-75 victory over a charged up Shelbyville bunch to complete their dream, unbeaten season and preserve their lofty national ranking. Jay Watkins was fantastic for Hamilton with 29 clutch points and was favored with the MVP trophy. The Shelbyville duo of Dequan Twilley and Barry Stewart did nothing short of raise their national stock with three outstanding games and an effort for the ages in the championship game. Twilley led the Eagles with 31 including clutch shots at the end of regulation and overtime. Stewart was everywhere dropping 22 and converting three foul shots to put the game into the second overtime. Stewart capped off the effort by being named Mr. Basjetball for AAA.
