Memphis squads show out in the heart of Texas.

The people in Texas were certainly not expecting this kind of dominance.

Two top level tourney taking place in the Lone Star state and both had a nice Tennessee flavor to them.

The Next Level tourney in Dallas was overun by the Memphis Y.

In all three age groups the Y either finished in the final four or in the case of the 15's advanced to the 'ship before falling to the ultra powerful Arkansas Wings.

Over at the Texas Spring Showcase the Memphis Magic came to regulate and finished their weekend falling in the final four to the eventual champion Team Jones.

In the 17 and under division the Y advanced to the final four for the second straight weekend.

Over in the 16 and under division Nicholas Mason (Fairley) continues to play at an extremely high level finishing with 25+ in the semi-final loss. Mason has been straight up fantastic thus far. His game is growing and his scoring and leadership skills are rising along with his confidence. Special mention was made for the consistent weekend play of Montez Pfeiffer (Southwind).

If they are not careful this could become a habit.....would that be so bad. For the second weekend in a row the Memphis YOMCA 15's advanced to the tile game of their respective tourney. This group is talented, exciting, well-coached and hungry.

Andre Hollins (White Station) continues to impress with his effort and basketball saavy. Hollins is comfortable in his ability and is very receptive to coaching, great qulaities for an aspiring hooper..Players take this to heart. Chris Jones (Melrose) and Denzel Hardy (Southwind) both had strong tourneys as well.

Playing up seems to suit the Memphis Magic just fine. The Magic made a nice run at the Texas Spring Showcase advancing to the final four before falling to the eventual champions.

Joe Jackson (White Station) once again made his presence known to everyone around the Southwest corner of the country. "The Real Thing" scored his share and led a balanced Magic attack, getting solid performances from the likes of Tariq Black (Ridgeway), Mario Bass (Kirby), Kris Brewer (Ridgeway) and Zach Jones (Craigmont).
