Seigel big man gets DI opportunity
Lucas Jones, the 6-8 post player from Murfreesboro Seigel has committed to continue his basketball career at Virginia Military Institute (VMI).
Jones is a solid big man whose best basketball is certainly ahead of him. The slender youngster can shoot the hook with both hands and has a knack for offensive rebounds and keeping possessions alive. He must learn to become more active and use positioning to avoid the early foul trouble that has plagued him in the past.
Jones will join fellow Keydet recruit Carl Josey from Seymour's King's Academy as the second Tennessee prepster to make his future home with the Big South Conference school.
Jones, who helped lead Seigel to two consecutive state tournament appearances following his transfer from Oakland, played his summer basketball for The Murfreesboro Stars and enjoyed great success over the sunny months.
The commitment of Jones is the 20th DI pledge for the Class of 2006. |
