Shelbyville point commits to the Bucs.
DeQuan Twilley, the classic point guard from state runner-up Shelbyville has pledged his basketball future to the Buccaneers of East Tennessee State.
Twilley who has the pass first mentality that coaches covet at the lead guard can also drop the outside bomb with his much improved shot. The young man has worked on his offensive game to the point where he can be a legitimate threat which was evident by his 31 point performance in the state championship game.
DeQuan can put the ball on the floor and has a knack for finding open teammates in traffic. His body is college ready and he will be an asset in the lockerroom for the Bucs.
Twilley will join his AAU teammate Mich Williams from Coffee County at the Johnson City school. The Bucs play in the tough and up-coming Atlantic Sun and are coached by veteran mentor Murray Bartow.
Twilley is the 22nd player from the Class of 2006 to commit to a DI institution. |
