Day two brings the cream to the top.
At an event loaded with nearly 80% of the top 50 players in the nation one would have to shine very bright to be the talk of the town. The player would have to showcase his ball-handling skills when asked to run some point. He would be counted upon to drain the three when the defense collapsed on his big men. He would take pleasure in driving the ball to the rack and finishing with contact. Just for fun he would love the breakouts where he could show the recruiting world his athletic prowess while flying to the rim. Shine bright is exactly what Elliot Williams (St. George) has accomplished. The top rated player in the state in the Class of 2008 is climbing up the charts and wants his name included in everyone's consensus top 20 by summer's end. Williams clocks in as the camps 8th leading scorer at 12.25 points per game. His putput for the first four sessions has been 13 points, 6 points, 9 points and then in the evenings finale a healthy 21 markers. Arguably playing as well as anyone, it is no wonder the likes of Tennessee, Duke, Virginia, Clemson and Memphis have made him a huge priority in their recruiting battles. With two more games tomorrow and the playoff rounds beginning on Saturday, Williams can still make his already blinding star more than anyone could stand to look at. Go get em, Elliot. |
