Travelers flex their muscle prepare for 15 and under state. In two weeks the 15 and under state tourney for AAU will commence in Nashville. From the West two Memphis YOMCA representatives bring high level opponents. The Mid-State will feature the Nashville Celtics and Mid-State Ballerz and from the East comes the Tennessee Travelers. The Travelers used a very balanced scoring attack to breeze by the CDF Thrashers 77-47 in the championship game of the Eastern Sub-State. The Travs ran out to a 22-5 first quarter lead and never looked back in this one. Jalen Steele (Fulton) led the scoring with 18 big points. Arthur McMillen (Hillsboro) and Brandon Herman (Grace Baptist) chipped in with 11 each for the blue and orange.
In the 17 and under championship the Chattanooga Warriors got 16 points from Orlandis Jackson (Brainard) and 15 from Brandon Allen (Howard) leading them to a 79-61 victory over the Mid-State Ballerz Blue 16's. Jackson and Allen scored on a variety of drives to the bucket and a few well placed outside shots. Skyler McBee (Rutledge) led the Ballerz with 18, including 5 three's. |
